Former President Donald Trump criticized election authorities in Arizona on Friday evening, as yet another of his supporters lost a Senate race and Republicans continue to assert that his medaling may have cost them control of the upper house.
Trump, for his part, sought a re-vote and alleged fraud cost Republicans the state election.
Mark Kelly’s victory over Republican Blake Masters left the Democrats one seat shy of keeping control of the Senate.
This has increased the pressure on Trump, who is accused of supporting radical candidates with little prospect of victory.
Trump went on the offensive on Friday night, claiming without evidence that fraud had cost Masters the Arizona election.
“Voting machines failed in big numbers, but mainly in Republican districts,” he said on his Truth Social website.
Thousands of people abandoned the polling lines because they were fatigued or had other things to do after waiting for hours.

However, this did not prevent suspicions of voter fraud from emerging quickly on social media.
Trump seized onto the charges, stating, “This is voter fraud and a con, no different than stuffing ballot boxes.”
The election was stolen from Blake Masters.

Barricades and security fencing have been built outside the Maricopa County elections office in Arizona in anticipation of potential protests, with law enforcement personnel on high alert.

However, as of Friday evening, Democrats held 49 seats to the Republicans’ 49. The race for Walker will proceed to a December runoff.
In Nevada, Democratic incumbent Senator Catherine Cortez Masto was within 800 votes of Republican state attorney general Adam Laxalt, leaving control of the upper chamber in the balance.
