Despite the contract impasse, Njabulo Blom is still a vital member of the Kaizer Chiefs.

South Africa — Despite contentious comments made by Njabulo Blom’s agent about his contract talks, Kaizer Chiefs coach Arthur Zwane claims that Blom is still an important member of the squad.

Rob Moore said on Wednesday’s episode of Sports Night Amplified on Metro FM that the Chiefs were trying to take advantage of his client with a new contract.

Blom is a development graduate who Ernst Middendorp elevated to the first squad in 2019, where he quickly established himself as a crucial member of the club.

Blom hasn’t been at his best, however, since the new season began. Because of this, he missed the last two matches against Cape Town City and Stellenbosch FC.

Given that his contract is slated to expire in June of next year, it has subsequently come to light that his agency and the club are at a standstill in their discussions.

Given his poor performance and unavailability, Moore’s admission about the offer the Chiefs are making for Blom sparked questions.

However, Zwane has maintained a low profile over the future of his protégé, claiming that he would always be an integral part of the Chiefs and their future plans.

“Njabulo is doing incredibly well; he works hard in the gym like any other player.” Competition for positions exists, as you are aware,” Zwane remarked.

“Whoever performs well will have a chance to enter the lineup. We are now enjoying ourselves immensely with Njabulo.

AmaZulu will visit Amakhosi in the Premiership on Saturday before the two clubs square off in the MTN8 semi-finals the following month.

The Chiefs’ season has gotten off to a shaky start. With six points after five games with two victories and three losses, they are ninth in the league standings.
