A star from the television show Gogglebox has revealed that she is no longer appearing on the program due to the amount of nudity featured.
Dame Sheila Hancock, who appeared on the show with her friend Gyles Brandreth, stated that she was not asked back after complaining about the amount of nudity she was asked to watch, including the show Naked Attraction.
Maureen Lipman, who also appeared on the show with Gyles, left last year after stating that she did not want to watch “a series of hopeless men dangle their bits and pieces” on television.
Both Sheila and Maureen had appeared on the show together and were known for their witty commentary. Sheila explained to The Mirror that she loved doing the show with Gyles, but that she was eventually “sacked” due to her complaints about the amount of nudity.
Sheila stated that she had called the editor of the show and asked if they could feature something other than penises. She claimed that the editor was angry with her for making the request.
Maureen echoed similar sentiments in interviews last year, stating that the producers of the show were not interested in their opinions and that they only wanted to shock the audience with nudity.
Gyles commented on the situation, noting that some of the things Maureen had said were “Oscar-winning funny,” yet the producers only used footage of them yawning.
