Dai Walters and Sam Thomas die in helicopter accident

When their aircraft crashed into trees and plummeted out of the sky in terrible weather, a renowned racehorse owner and trainer were hurt.

Sam Thomas, a horse trainer, age 38, and Dai Walters, the owner, age 76, were two of the four individuals onboard the helicopter when it crashed to the ground.

According to witnesses, the propeller broke off as it impacted the woods and the accident “looked like something out of a movie.”

Owner Mr. Walters, who is currently in the hospital after an accident in the hamlet of Llanelidan, Ruthin, North Wales, is said to have sustained the most severe injuries.

Sam Thomas, a Cardiff-based trainer who won the Welsh Grand National, had just minor wounds and is now free to board a flight back to his native country.

According to police, none of the four passengers suffered “life-threatening or life-changing injuries” and were able to flee the collision.

Although aviation authorities are still looking into the accident’s cause, there had been persistently strong winds and rain in Wales throughout the day.

Businessman Huw Howatson recalled having to flee as he saw the helicopter descend close to his house.

I was recording the helicopter as I observed it happen, he said. I had to get out of the road as I could see it was having problems and had struck some trees.

“A propeller fragment fell loose.” Debris was flying everywhere and there was a lot of it; it was like something out of a movie.

Around 17:36 on Tuesday, police, firemen, medical personnel, and a coast guard helicopter all arrived on the site.

Officers responded to the incident together with colleagues from Welsh Ambulance and North Wales Fire & Rescue, according to Inspector David Cust of North Wales Police.

Four persons were rushed to hospitals across the region, but all the residents have been located.

“At this point, it is not believed that any of the injuries are life-threatening or significantly altering. The Civil Aviation Authority will handle the continuing inquiry regarding the cause while a multi-agency reaction is still on the site.

Who owns the helicopter and its course are now unknown.
