Croydon, Melbourne driver leaves note for car they hit

A driver who hit a parked vehicle and left merely an apology note has been criticized online for their “dog behaviour.”

A woman had ducked into grab a coffee at the Blackwork Cafe in Croydon, Melbourne on Friday - only for a driver to hit her car which was parked directly outside the shop
On Friday morning, a woman stopped into the Blackwork Cafe in Croydon, Melbourne’s eastern suburbs, to have a cup of coffee, only to have her parked car struck by a passing motorist.

The selfish driver sent an apology note but left no contact information.

The note stated, “Sorry I hit your car, but I cannot afford to pay for repairs.”

On Friday, a woman entered the Blackwork Cafe in Croydon, Melbourne, to have a cup of coffee, only to have a driver smash her parked car, which was positioned just in front of the store.

Desperate to learn the identity of the driver, the woman posted a message on a local Facebook group.Croydon, Melbourne driver leaves note for car they hit

She added in a post, “As I was driving home, I noticed the sweet message they had placed on my windshield.”

‘Unfortunately, the cafes and shops along there do not have cameras, however there were a few people eating breakfast outside who may have seen who left the letter on my car.

If anyone witnessed this incident and was able to obtain the vehicle information, etc., I would greatly appreciate a message!

Many, including the driver herself, hypothesized that the other motorist left a note since witnesses were present.

After colliding with the woman’s vehicle, some Internet users criticized the driver for failing to leave their information.

One user even called the decision to only leave an apology note on the windscreen 'a real dog act'

‘Disgraceful. Not able to afford it? Should not be operating a motor vehicle. Best of luck obtaining money from this human paraquat,’ one commenter remarked.

People may experience adversity, yet they should still be held accountable for their errors. How disappointing, said another.

A third user stated, “Left a note in case anyone was watching.”

One user even referred to the decision to merely leave a note of apology on the windshield as “a real dog act.”

A second man commented, “That is a real dog act.”

The woman stated that it was likely that they wrote the message because others were around and assumed they were leaving their information.

She stated, “A few of individuals have told me there are CCTV cameras on the street, so I’ll see what I can do.”
