Fatal Melbourne three-car crash leaves a woman dead

After a three-car collision in Melbourne, one woman died and two others were sent to hospital.

Tuesday morning, just before 8 a.m., three automobiles crashed at the junction of Queens and Beenak Rd. in the city’s northeast.

The deceased female driver of one of the vehicles has not yet been properly recognized.

The second vehicle’s male driver was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The third vehicle, a Toyota Hilux towing an empty horse float, was occupied by a man, a woman, and a child.

The two adults were transported by vehicle to the hospital, while the child was flown. They all sustained injuries that were not life-threatening.

Major Collision Investigation Unit investigators will examine the accident, according to Victoria Police.

So far this year, 16 people have died on Victorian roads.
