Courtney Clenney pleads not guilty to killing lover

Courtney Clenney, an OnlyFans model, entered a not-guilty plea on Wednesday via her attorney to the second-degree murder charge brought against her boyfriend Christian ‘Toby’ Obumseli, who died after being stabbed to death at their Florida home in March.

Clenney did not attend the quick two-minute hearing in Miami-Dade Circuit Court before Florida Judge Diana Vizcaino.

After being extradited from Hawaii, she is still incarcerated in the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Facility in Miami.

Through her lawyer Frank Prieto, the former OnlyFans model entered a plea.

Prieto informed the judge, “We’ll stick by our written petitions to not guilty your honour.”

In a filed statement to the court, Prieto said that they will “present a forceful defence in her behalf.”

Five days after she returned in Miami-Dade after being extradited from Hawaii, where she had been detained earlier this month while receiving treatment for drug addiction, Clenney was officially accused in the April 3 homicide.

September 6 is her next scheduled court date.

Millions of people follow Clenney Tailor on social media, and she is suspected of fatally stabbing her lover Christian “Toby” Obumseli on April 3 after an altercation in their opulent Miami condominium.

Clenney, who had a history of assaulting Obumseli and who was unarmed at the time of his murder, is accused of being the perpetrator, according to the prosecution.

Her lawyers, however, contend that she acted in self-defense and that she was the victim of domestic violence.

According to the Miami Herald, the defence is still trying to minimise how much information is made public and has expressed concern about potentially incriminating “adult” images and videos.

In a petition to the court, Prieto said, “It is expected that most, if not all, of the adult content and sexually explicit documents are extraneous to the State’s case-in-chief.”

Courtney Clenney need to be evaluated in light of the admissible evidence (subject to court review) and not based on her own preferences.

Clenney’s lawyer had earlier requested that Obumseli’s body be dug up and examined by a medical examiner to support her self-defense account.

According to the Miami Herald, Clenney claimed to have stabbed Obumseli in the chest at their opulent apartment in the One Paraiso complex in Edgewater, Miami, in April after grabbing her by the neck.

Clenney claimed that she threw the knife at her lover from a distance of more than ten feet, but according to Fernandez, the autopsy showed a severe cut that could only be seen up close.

Police discovered the OnlyFans model covered in blood on her balcony and momentarily detained her, but they subsequently freed her because they thought she had acted in self-defense.

After Obumseli passed away, his remains was interred in Texas. Larry Handfield, the family lawyer for the 27-year-old, said that the attempt by Clenney’s lawyer is “an act of desperation” and that excavating the corpse would go against the family’s religious principles.

In addition, Prieto requested a stop to the disclosure of Clenney’s accusatory evidence without the court first reviewing it.

The move was brought about by the disclosure of elevator video taken in the couple’s Miami flat, which showed the model giving Obumseli a brutal beating two months before to his death.

As Obumseli struggled to deflect her strikes, Clenney could be seen slapping and tugging at his hair in the video.

Less than two years had passed since Clenney and Obumseli started dating, and things were rocky.

Police were repeatedly summoned to their Austin, Texas home after she was detained for domestic assault in Las Vegas.

The couple relocated to Miami at the beginning of the year, and since then, employees and residents at the One Paraiso building have received several complaints about the couple’s involvement in domestic disputes and have even taken steps to remove them.

Obumseli allegedly seized Clenney by the neck on April 3, and she was forced to stab him, according to Clenney and her counsel.

In April, Obumseli’s brother expressed his ire at her for not being prosecuted with murder right away, claiming that this was due to her privilege as a “rich white lady” and not because she claimed she was acting in self-defense.

The victim’s brother, Jeffrey Obumseli, and his family, however, said in a statement shared on Instagram that they do not trust Clenney and demand that she be prosecuted for murdering the brother he named Toby.

Just after the murder, a model was seen on camera covered in blood on her high-rise balcony.

The truth, as Jeffrey Obumseli put it, “is unavoidably clear: Courtney is being treated differently because of her privilege as an affluent White lady.”

“The investigator on the case hastily decided this was not a crime of violence within 24 hours of Toby’s death.”

The family of Obumseli from Austin, Texas, is still looking for explanations. On GoFundMe, his family is collecting funds for him.

He was the victim of a “heinous act of violence,” according to their website.

A week before turning 28, Christian Toby Obumseli was killed in Florida. To attempt to make sense of our new world is morally repugnant.

“That person tore Christian from our planet with their selfish deed.” Not only are we upset and astonished, but we are also completely saddened.

His murder raises a lot of concerns and leaves a hole in the world that can never be patched or filled. Irrespective of time.

Christian had a strong desire to inspire others around him and was incredibly empathetic. It states, “He did not deserve to have his life taken by a horrific act of violence.

Since she was accused of murdering her lover, Clenney has been uploading X-rated material on her OnlyFans website throughout the inquiry.

A day after she murdered Obumseli, X-rated material started to emerge on her website, however it’s unclear whether it was planned to go public before the tragedy.

Clenney’s page was deleted almost immediately after her arrest.

She still maintains a presence on Instagram, although it has been 19 weeks since her last post.

In her most recent image, she was shown in Miami wearing a scant pink dress, and the caption read: “My face thinking about a new set of talons… what colour should I get?”
