Sheila Miller, a spokesman for the Bend Police Department, stated that the shooting in the mall began near the Big Lots shop. The gunman then proceeded to the supermarket’s entrance, where he shot and murdered a person.
Miller claims that a second victim was murdered at the store’s rear.
Miller stated that the other fatality was the gunman. Ultimately, Bend Police Chief Mike Krantz revealed that the gunman committed suicide at the site.
Miller described the shooter as having an AR-15 rifle. At approximately 7 p.m. local time, emergency personnel were summoned to the mall.

According to KTVZ, St. Charles Medical Center has reported receiving two patients, one of whom was pronounced deceased upon arrival.

Molly Taroli, a lady who was at the store with her husband, told the Bend Bulletin that when she heard shooting, she got her revolver out of her handbag while her husband sprinted out of the store to fetch his rifle.
Taroli reported that she ran to the back of the shop alongside Safeway colleagues yelling “Go, Go, Go!”
Customers were delivered to the stockroom and exited by the rear door.
