Molly Taroli, a lady who was at the store with her husband, told the Bend Bulletin that when she heard shooting, she got her revolver out of her handbag while her husband sprinted out of the store to fetch his rifle.

Taroli reported that she ran to the back of the shop alongside Safeway colleagues yelling “Go, Go, Go!”

Customers were delivered to the stockroom and exited by the rear door.

According to statistics, more over half of Oregonians possess firearms. Without a permit, open carry is permitted statewide. Licenses to carry concealed firearms are necessary.
