Ingredients

  • 1 whole chicken’s pieces

  • 1 packet fresh or frozen broccoli

For the cheese sauce

  • 750 ml chicken stock (use the stock if you poached your chicken

  • 2 cups grated cheese

  • 1 cup milk

  • 2 tbsp. flour

  • 2 tbsp. butter

  • salt and pepper

Method

Chicken

  • In a large pot, Brown and cook your chicken pieces.
  • (You can make your own stock by poaching the chicken pieces in water and saving the stock)

For the cheese sauce

  • In a saucepan, melt the butter and flour together until flour smell goes away.
  • Slowly add the stock while whisking and add the cup of milk.
  • Whisk until thick streaks start forming and add salt and pepper with the cheese. Keep whisking until thick.

Assembly

  • In a large casserole dish, place the chicken pieces and broccoli. Cover with the cheese sauce..
  • Add the remaining cup of cheese over top.
  • Bake in preheated 180°C oven for 30 minutes or until golden brown and bubbly.
