Charlie Puth alleges everyone ‘disappeared’ after Greyson Chance indicated he felt ‘abandoned’

Grammy-winning artist Charlie Puth recently said that he felt like everyone at Ellen DeGeneres’ music label, eleveneleven, “disappeared” on him.

The celebrity featured on the “Rolling Stone Music Now” podcast where he reminisced his time working for the now-defunct company of the talk show presenter.

In October 2011, DeGeneres found Puth and Emily Luther after viewing their acoustic cover of Adele’s “Someone Like You” on their popular YouTube page, where they posted acoustic versions. Nevertheless, Puth claims that the label vanished after he completed his debut EP, echoing Greyson Chance’s recent claims about being “abandoned.”

Puth said: “Greyson and I have distinct life experiences. I concur with him, however, that nobody was truly present following the development of my first demo EP.”

Puth stated that he does not specifically blame anyone, stating: “After that, I did not really hear from anyone. From a communal perspective, rather than blaming a single individual, everyone in the room just vanished.”

The “See You Again” singer also stated that he is unsure of the quality of his early work. He added, “I never heard those songs again, therefore I do not know how wonderful they were.”

Greyson Chance earlier told Rolling Stone that he felt “totally abandoned” by Ellen DeGeneres when his popularity began to decline and she stopped returning his calls. In addition, he stated that she yelled at him and referred to her as “an extraordinarily manipulative individual.”

However, Puth stated that he had no unfavorable interactions with the host and added: “People describe Ellen as nasty. I’ve never had that experience. Maybe she likes me.”

This is not the first time DeGeneres has been accused of treating staff with hostility; when a comedian requested for anecdotes about her online, a number of former colleagues recalled working in a poisonous environment on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show.”

In 2020, the Dutch YouTuber NikkieTutorials stated on “De Wereld Draait Door” that the legendary host was “cold and aloof” toward her when she appeared on the show.

This prompted a number of celebrities, including Mariah Carey, Lea Thompson, and Brad Garrett, to recount their awkward interactions with the 64-year-old presenter. Ashton Kutcher, Kevin Hart, and Katy Perry, among others, backed DeGeneres.
