On Sunday, 22 January, emergency personnel were dispatched to a location where a cat was stuck in a drain. The cat escaped the terrifying circumstance with all 9 of its lives.
A resident reported hearing her missing cat, which had been missing for a month, in a nearby drain.
She requested assistance from the IPSS Search and Rescue section and Specialized Rescue Unit.
The rescue team began shutting off the various drains to prevent the cat from entering farther into the drainage system.
Following a two-day practice, they were able to retrieve the cat.
Socks escaped his ordeal a little lighter and with a few scrapes, albeit he was a little worse for wear.
