On Sunday in Cariacica, Brazil, Rosyneide Almeida was preparing to park her car in her home’s garage with her children when she was carjacked.

Armed suspects observed a stroller for Almeida’s son with special needs and decided to ditch the vehicle on the street.

The attackers filled the car’s gas tank and also left a note pleading for pardon.

Almeida was able to collect the approximately $3,000 stroller that was donated for her son.

The vehicle will be returned to her as soon as the investigation is concluded.

A pair of carjackers in Brazil apparently had a change of heart after stealing a mother’s vehicle at gunpoint and returned it with an apology note stating they had not realized the stroller for her child with special needs was inside.

Surveillance footage reveals that one of the armed men approached Rosyneide Almeida as she was preparing to park her car in the garage of her home in the southeastern city of Cariacica on Sunday.

“He instructed me to get out of the car because he wanted it,” Almeida told the Brazilian news agency G1.

Sunday in front of her home in Cariacica, Brazil, armed carjackers approached Rosyneide Almeida while she was standing next to her vehicle. One of the suspects requested that she surrender her vehicle. She was able to retrieve her two children without difficulty. The vehicle was abandoned with a full gas tank and an apology message after the carjackers spotted the woman’s son’s encephalitis-specific stroller. Encephalitis is an inflammation of the brain.

Tuesday, Rosyneide Almeida met with the police and was able to get the $3,000 stroller that had been given to fit her son’s demands because he suffers with chronic encephalitis, an inflammation of the brain.

Daughter of Rosyneide Almeida tightens the stroller straps for her four-year-old brother.

The mother of two informed the carjacker that her four-year-old boy with encephalitis and her nine-year-old daughter were still in the vehicle.

“I opened the door and dragged them both out, removing both of them.” I was desperate, she said.

Almeida was concerned not just about regaining her vehicle, but also about the $3,000 stroller that had been donated to her family to fit her son’s special needs.

Friends and relatives assisted Almeida with a social media campaign to recover the vehicle, which was eventually abandoned on a street and discovered by a friend on Tuesday.

Authorities have not yet released Rosyneide Almeida’s vehicle because a car theft and robbery team is conducting an investigation into the carjacking.

Sunday evening, Rosyneide Almeida attempted to prevent the carjackers from fleeing with her vehicle after being robbed at gunpoint outside her home.

The stolen automobile had a full petrol tank and a handwritten apology card.

The note, which was written in Portuguese, stated, “Crime asks for pardon; at the time of the (robbery), it was impossible to perceive the child’s situation.” The vehicle will be returned. The tank is full!!

The vehicle theft and robbery unit of the Cariacica civil police restored the stroller to Almeida, but retained her car pending the completion of portions of the initial inquiry.
