Candace Cameron Bure criticizes ‘tough’ cancel culture remarks after marriage

Candace Cameron Bure asserts that cancel society is conspiring against her.

“Cancel culture is real, and it’s difficult, and it’s hard,” the “Full House” alum remarked on the podcast “Unapologetic with Julia Jeffress Sadler” on Wednesday, nearly three months after she received criticism for labeling lesbian marriage as unorthodox.

Cameron Bure, 46, went on to explore the persecution Christians suffer for sharing their faith, particularly outside the United States.

She remarked, “I am aware that people are severely persecuted for their faith in all parts of the world and in a variety of countries.” When someone yells at us or says anything bad to us, I feel as though we have a cushion in North America that prevents our feelings from being wounded.

The actress said, “And that is not even close to the persecution that other Christians face in other countries.”

Cameron Bure stated that she believes it is essential for Christians to adhere to their convictions while also engaging others with kindness, even during times of controversy.

“It is difficult no matter what. She stated, “Especially if you are a compassionate person with a heart for people.” “But it’s important that we speak the truth in love, because, listen, nobody is going to change, nobody is going to listen to you when it comes out angry or in a harsh manner, but it’s important that we stand firm.”

The “Fuller House” actress expressed her pride in her children Natasha, 24, Lev, 22, and Maksim, 21, for always “sticking to the truth.”

“I am very inspired by my children…. She continued, “I’m so proud of them for sticking to the truth, knowing the gospel, and being willing to share it, because I know it takes courage, especially in the times we live in now.”

Cameron Bure shares her three children with her 1996-married spouse, Valeri Bure.

In November 2022, the “Full House” alum was criticized for portraying same-sex marriage as unorthodox.

In a November 2022 interview with WSJ. Magazine, the former co-host of “The View” stated that the television network she joined after leaving Hallmark Channel “will keep traditional marriage at its core.”

Cameron Bure maintained her position, stating in a long statement to Page Six later that month that individuals were attempting to “assassinate” her character.

“Everyone who knows me knows without a doubt that I have enormous love and affection for everyone. “It breaks my heart that anyone would ever believe I would intentionally offend or hurt someone,” she stated.

“It saddens me that the media frequently seeks to divide us, even over something as warm and joyful as Christmas movies. However, given the current toxic milieu in our culture, I shouldn’t be shocked.”

Cameron Bure asserted that she loves everyone, including those who “hate” her ideals and “attack” her online.

“I have a simple message: I love you regardless,” she stated, adding, “I love everyone reading this, regardless of race, religion, sexual orientation, or political affiliation, including those who have tried to intimidate me with name-calling.”

Still, the general public, including JoJo Siwa, Hilarie Burton, and even her former “Full House” co-star Jodie Sweetin, criticized the “DWTS” alum.

In the midst of the incident, Burton labeled Cameron Bure a “bigot.”

“I do not recall Jesus like hypocrites as much as Candy. But sure. “Make your money, honey,” tweeted the One Tree Hill star. “You’re riding that wave of prejudice all the way to the bank.”

Jeffrey Dean Morgan, the husband of Elizabeth Burton, tweeted, “How did I miss this twit?! Who the f–k is this individual? What’s up, Hil? You’re wonderful. We happy to have ya. X.”

Siwa, who came out as a member of the LGBTQIA+ community in 2021, condemned Bure’s comments as “rude and hurtful.”

Cameron Bure unfollowed Sweetin on Instagram after she disparaged her former co-star by expressing support for Siwa.
