California man sets record of highest number of visits to Disneyland in a row – 2,995 days

Jeff Reitz, a Disney fanatic from Huntington Beach, California, has just been recognized by Guinness World Records for his streak of consecutive visits to Disneyland in Anaheim, California. Reitz visited the theme park for an incredible 2,995 consecutive days, beginning on January 1, 2012, and ending on March 13, 2020, when the park temporarily closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The 50-year-old began his journey as a joke with his ex-girlfriend when they were both unemployed and thought it would be fun to visit the park every day during the leap year.

As time went on, however, his trips to Disneyland became a daily ritual and a true passion. Throughout his historic streak, Reitz made countless posts on Instagram, where he shared news updates about rides and attractions, shared videos of himself throughout the park, and even posted photos of Disney cast members.

As Reitz’s Disney journey gained more traction, his celebrity status around the theme park grew. Guests in the park would stop him for photos and autographs, and Reitz became a familiar face to visitors and staff alike. He even earned an Honorary Citizenship certificate from Disney, as well as a gift basket and a backpack for completing certain milestones, such as his 366th visit.

Reitz also documented every moment of the final day of his streak when Disneyland announced its temporary closure due to the pandemic. He made eight posts showcasing the final walks of characters and the last sweep-through of the park.

After securing a job as a hospital worker, Reitz still visited the park, making sure to mark certain occasions and special events in his calendar. Even on days when he didn’t go on all the rides, he would take a walk around the park, capturing images to share on his social media accounts.

Reitz didn’t always go on all the rides, but he did have a favorite one, “There is only one ‘ride’ in Disneyland, being Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride.” He also made sure to check the park’s calendar alongside his own to be sure he could make it to Disneyland before it closed for special events.

Reitz’s love for Disneyland and his impressive streak of consecutive visits have inspired countless Disney fans around the world. While the pandemic may have temporarily ended his streak, there’s no doubt that he’ll be back at the park as soon as he can. As Reitz said in his Instagram posts, “I’ll be back, it’s just a matter of when!”
