Boris Johnson attacks Rishi Sunak’s Brexit deal for Northern Ireland

Boris Johnson has criticized Rishi Sunak’s Brexit deal for Northern Ireland, stating that it would not “take back control” and indicating that he may vote against it.

During a speech in London, the former Prime Minister expressed his hesitation to support the Windsor Framework, citing concerns that it would still give the EU too much of a say in Ulster.

Mr Sunak was concurrently convening a Tory MP awayday in Berkshire to strategize for the upcoming election. However, Mr Johnson’s intervention risks creating party division once again.

In addition to criticizing the Brexit deal, Mr Johnson also spoke out against book censorship, singing a song from the film adaptation of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory during his speech.

Mr Johnson has previously claimed that when he was forced out as Prime Minister, the Tories were only a few points behind Labour in the polls. However, the actual margin was much larger, with the party trailing by 11 points.
