Boksburg gas explosion funeral

The location of a memorial ceremony for those lost in the horrific Boksburg gas explosion on Christmas eve will be revealed on Friday.

Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi and Ekhuruleni Mayor Tania Campbell will both attend a combined memorial ceremony that will be held by the provincial government of Gauteng and the City of Ekhuruleni.

On Thursday, it was announced that there were now 27 fatalities as a result of the catastrophe, with 10 of them being medical personnel from the Tambo Memorial Hospital, which is only 100 meters away from where the explosion occurred.
