Boitumelo Rabale makes COSAFA BEST XI

It is safe to say that Boitumelo ‘Queen’ Rabale has had an outstanding season thus far. In addition to her accomplishments in the ongoing Hollywoodbets Super League, the Lesotho skipper was recently chosen to the 2022 COSAFA Women’s Championship Best XI.

Group B contained the eventual champions Zambia, Namibia, and Eswatini, along with Lesotho.

The Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies player was outstanding against Eswatini, scoring a hat-trick with a wonderful free-kick, a stunning header, and a fine finish in the 3-0 victory.

Rabale was selected as a member of the tournament’s Best XI despite the fact that the Beautiful Flowers were unable to earn any more points against Zambia and Namibia. Despite this, Rabale was able to garner the attention of the COSAFA competition by being chosen to the tournament’s Best XI.

The Lesotho captain also won the Silver Boot for being the tournament’s second-highest scorer with three goals, five behind eventual champion Barbra Banda of Zambia.

It continues the enthralling season of the Queen, who has dominated the Hollywoodbets Super League this season. With 13 goals, Rabale is presently the leading scorer for the Sundowns.

Boitumelo earned her first hat-trick of the season in a 5-0 victory over Durban Ladies, and she has since scored two more against City Lads Ladies and Tsunami Queens.

Rabale is ecstatic with her club and national form this season. It is always an honor to represent my country, and it gives me great pride to leave my mark. We intend to repeat our domestic supremacy from the previous season. There is still a considerable distance to travel, and we are not resting on our laurels.”

Queen also discusses the burden of responsibility she must bear as national team captain.

“Being the captain of my country is not a difficult assignment, but it is a frightening one because of the responsibility that comes with the position. Knowing that the majority of the team’s success hinges on my abilities frequently motivates me to put in extra effort. As a leader, I must also remain constantly motivated, Rabale explained.

Boitumelo further added, “My participation in COSAFA competitions for both club and country has been humbling. Both have taught me invaluable lessons that I will not soon forget. Both competitions have allowed me to compete against the continent’s finest players. I am quite pleased with my experience thus far.”

Congratulations to the Queen for being named to the COSAFA Women’s Championship BEST XI, as well as to the other selected footballers and their respective nations.
