In front of startled cops, shocking footage captures the moment an intoxicated Maserati driver rammed his £70,000 supercar into a set of traffic lights.

Unfortunate for the driver, a police car was also waiting at the intersection and immediately administered a breathalyzer test to the owner of the 187 mph expensive silver automobile.

The drunk driver smashed the £70,000 Maserati Levante into a set of traffic lights in Birmingham, destroying it.

CCTV footage released by authorities over the weekend depicts the horrifying moment the luxury car crashes.

A 12-month driving ban and £2,190 in fines have been issued to him after he was discovered to have twice the maximum blood alcohol level.

WMP Traffic released the video on social media with the caption, ‘This clip illustrates the consequences of drinking and driving.

The video flips to footage from a body-worn camera to show the driver exiting his vehicle with minor injuries and standing in a stupor.

Sunday, police shared the video to social media, where users criticized the motorist, claiming he had “more money than sense.”

Steven Bole stated, “Left to me, a life ban and a hefty fine would be the only way for people to realize that drinking and driving do not mix; only then would they realize the harm that drinking and driving causes.”

The motorist appeared bewildered on police bodycam footage of the aftermath of the collision (shown), which was obtained following the collision.
