Before being shot by a police officer in Dallas Love Field Airport, Texas, a woman was seen firing multiple bullets into the air near a ticket desk.

Just before 11 a.m. this morning, Portia Odufuwa, 37, started shooting multiple rounds from a revolver while panicked passengers hid beneath chairs and were evacuated amid the active gunfire.

A police officer present at the area confronted the lady shortly after she started firing, shooting and wounding her.

According to authorities, she was transferred to Parkland Memorial Hospital, where she is still today. At the airport, the Federal Aviation Administration also issued a ground stop.

According to Dallas Police Chief Eddie Garcia, the 37-year-old lady, later identified as Odufuwa, entered the airport bathroom before exiting with a revolver and firing the majority of the shots at the ceiling.

Odufuwa was reportedly previously recognized by law enforcement after being detained for stealing a bank in Wylie, Texas, in 2019.

According to authorities, the suspect was the only person who was hurt.

They affirmed that “at this time, the terminal is secure.”

What motivated her is yet unknown. Before being transferred to the hospital, the shooter was taken into jail.

Colby James, one of the witnesses, told NBC 5 that Odufuwa announced that her husband had been having an extramarital affair before pulling out the revolver and firing roughly 12 shots into the ceiling.

After she pulled the trigger close to the airport ticket counter, he claimed that everyone dispersed.

All incoming planes to Dallas Love are at this time being detained at their point of departure, while flights that have already touched down are not yet making their way to the gates.

Max Geron, the Rockwall, Texas, chief of police, claimed to have been evacuated after the incident while he was at the airport.

For doing a “wonderful job,” he congratulated the Transportation Security Administration.

After an apparent shooting, I just left Love Field, he wrote. Families are secure. TSA did an excellent job.

What just happened? one witness wondered as they posted a video of the tumultuous circumstances to social media.

“A bunch of individuals started rushing and shouting “run,” so we all hurried to find cover.

We have not received any communication.

“Now, everything appears to be calm. Without a doubt, it was a terrifying experience for everyone.

Shots were fired into the air, according to another witness. People started to hide and flee.

Dallas PD handled the incident in a matter of minutes. The shooter was hurt, but I don’t believe anyone else.
