Asda Announces Price Cuts on Over 200 Own-Label Products
Asda, a leading supermarket chain, has made an announcement today regarding significant price cuts on more than 200 of its own-label products.
These 226 products have been reduced in price by an average of nine percent, encompassing a wide range of items such as fresh fruits and vegetables, frozen meat and fish products, essential pantry items, and popular ready meals.
Financial Struggles Prompt the Initiative
This latest initiative by Asda comes as a response to the current economic challenges faced by UK households.
According to the recent Asda Income Tracker, 40% of households in the country experienced negative disposable income last month.
This means that their take-home pay was insufficient to cover their monthly expenses.
As a result, Asda has taken action to help alleviate the financial strain faced by customers.
Summer Price Lock Campaign
In addition to the price cuts on own-label products, Asda had previously launched a summer price lock campaign.
This campaign aimed to freeze the prices on 500 popular branded and own-label products until the end of August.
By doing so, Asda aimed to provide stability and assurance to its customers during the summer period.
Continuation of Money-Saving Offers
As part of its ongoing efforts to support families and make grocery shopping more affordable, Asda has extended its “Kids Eat for £1” café meal offer for the remainder of the year.
This offer, which was introduced in July of the previous year, has already served two million meals from Asda cafes.
To ensure the affordability of these meals, Asda has invested £1.3 million to subsidize the offer and maintain the price at £1.
New Offers for Families
To further cater to the needs of families, Asda recently introduced a selection of half-priced adult meals to its menu.
This means that a family of four can enjoy a meal at any Asda café for as little as £8.50 in total.
By providing affordable dining options, Asda aims to help families stretch their budgets and enjoy quality time together.
Commitment to Customer Well-being
Kris Comerford, Asda’s Chief Commercial Officer, emphasized the supermarket’s dedication to supporting families during financially challenging times.
Comerford acknowledged the strain felt by families, particularly as they enter the summer holiday period, and stated that Asda will continue to lower prices whenever possible to assist customers in maximizing their grocery budgets.
Effective Date and Availability
The price reductions on the aforementioned own-label products will take effect from July 21.
Customers can enjoy these reduced prices both in Asda stores and through online shopping, making it convenient for them to access the discounted items.
