As anticyclone Arctic blast barrels toward Britain, Met Office announces conclusion

In the first week of March, the UK may see a snowy blast, according to weather analysts.

According to independent forecasts, a cold “anticyclonic” period with snowy conditions similar to 2018’s Beast from the East may strike the nation.

According to Ian Simpson’s blog post for Netweather, this colder blast could cause havoc in the UK in the first few days of the new month “As we move through early March, the anticyclonic and chillier spell that will end the month and probably last the first five days of March may be replaced by even colder and possibly wintry conditions.

“The present Sudden Stratospheric Warming may be blamed for the temperatures dropping even lower, even with a chance of snow, rather than gradually warming up at the start of meteorological spring.”

This meteorological phenomenon, which occurred last week, involves the stratosphere rising close to places like Greenland and Scandinavia, and it has the potential to alter the country’s weather by bringing an easterly cold blast.

This frontal structure, which takes weeks to form, was cited as one of the main causes of the Beast from the East in 2018.

Snow, cold weather, and timing are not specifically included in the Met Office’s long-range prediction for the period from March 7 to March 21.

It read: “In the beginning of the period, high pressure is anticipated to rule, with any further unrest likely to affect the far north and north west.

“By the middle of the month, a low pressure system might form to the south of the UK, bringing more widespread variable weather.

“Beginning with temperatures that are normally around average, there is a chance that the evenings may become colder.

While confidence is still low, there is a probability that some colder-than-average weather may emerge as the month goes on.

It’s now seeming more like a Troll from Trondhein, but Jim Dale, the senior meteorologist at British Weather Services, warned that it “may easily switch into a Beast from the East,” adding that “the following two to three days should hopefully see some clarity of the specifics.”

According to weather maps, Britain will be battered by a deluge of snow and ice on March 7 at approximately 6 o’clock.
