Argentine police chase suspect who gets out of vehicle with a stranger

In the province of Córdoba in central Argentina, a suspect connected to a shooting that occurred in a traffic accident managed to make a Hollywood-style getaway as he and his buddy were being pursued by the police.

After the 36-year-old driver shot another driver in the leg during a road rage incident in Córdoba City on Tuesday, the driver made a daring break for freedom.

The fleeing automobile is seen speeding along a dirt road as the police are pursuing it in surveillance camera video published by the Córdoba police department.

Unexpectedly, the front passenger seat occupant leaps from the moving car.

He then notices a stranger strolling down a section of grass close to the road and rushes up to him.

The moment the police vehicle passes them, he puts his arm over his back and moves away from him as if they had been buddies since high school.

Then, before the video is cut off, he commands the stranger to halt in the middle of the street and run in the direction of what looks to be a house.

A second surveillance camera captures the officer escorting the fleeing motorist into a car.

He allegedly has a history of legal run-ins, according to the online news source Infobae.

The shooter’s Peugeot 307 was also taken by police, and they found a hoodie that his escaping companion had left behind. As of Thursday afternoon, the friend was still at large.

The injured driver was transferred to a nearby hospital for non-life-threatening medical attention.
