Anticipation for the premiere of ‘Gqeberha: The Empire’ increases

Gqeberha will eventually be celebrated on local television stations. This occurred following the Sunday opening of Gqeberha: The Empire at The Boardwalk Hotel.

The weekday telenovela, which will replace The Queen on Mzansi Magic beginning on January 16, will include local talent like as Mbulelo Grootboom, Zikhona Sodlaka, and Zandile Msutwana, among others.

Grootboom, who plays Tony in White Wedding, portrays one of the wealthiest men in town, Luzuko Mxenge. He said that his current job is the most significant in his acting career.

He told Sunday World that he never imagined a Xhosa-centered drama, despite his belief that the tribe has produced some of the industry’s finest actors.

This time, he remarked, the Eastern Cape will be recognized for its television work and its talent pool will expand.

“We are quite fortunate to have this production in our region, as the Xhosa language and way of life have been absent from television for a very long period. “During filming, we demonstrate how beautiful Gqeberha is, as few people are aware of its beauty,” stated Grootboom.

“What I love most is the character I’m portraying, a polygamist with wives of varying personalities.” I adore them, but not everyone is devoted to our union. They refer to Mxenge’s desire for more wealth as greed, while he prefers the term “ambition.”

While the nation eagerly awaits the premiere of the telenovela, Grootboom stated that he will find a way to avoid viewing the program, stating that he would rather observe fan reaction.

“I’m frightened when it’s time for the public to appraise my artwork because I love and respect it so much. I adore it, but I am awaiting feedback,” he continued.
