American tech firm Credera invests £45 million into Manchester and Newcastle, creating over 300 jobs

The UK’s booming tech industry is celebrating more good news following the success of London Tech Week as American tech consultancy firm Credera has announced a £45 million investment in the Northern Powerhouse.

For those wishing to launch their career in technology, £20 million will be invested in Manchester to establish 150 graduate positions over the course of three years.

Manchester has a solid reputation as a wonderful place to work and has a track record of innovation and development.

In the North West, Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) projects alone generated almost 4,000 new jobs in 2020–2021, furthering our goals to level the UK and increase the number of highly skilled positions throughout the nation.

Over 1,300 jobs were created by FDI projects in the North East during the same time period. Credera will invest £25 million in Newcastle’s downtown to create 160 of a total of 200 high-skilled jobs for locals launching their careers in the UK’s emerging tech industry.

Thanks to the funding, Newcastle’s developing tech sector will become more accessible to exciting new opportunities, which will increase employment, strengthen the local economy, and level the UK playing field.

Anne-Marie Trevelyan, secretary of state for international trade, said:

This increase in investment is evidence of the welcoming and welcoming business environment that the UK provides, which generates high-value jobs, fosters innovation and clean growth, and strengthens our economy.

The Northern Powerhouse is a force to be reckoned with, and I’m happy to see that the leveling up agenda of this government is providing the people with real, observable advantages across the board.

Around the world, the UK is a very alluring place to invest. The EU’s most recent Annual Attractiveness Survey just last month revealed the highest level of investment intent ever recorded into the UK, a testament to the outstanding climate for innovation this government has fostered across the entire nation.
