Alice McCall goes into liquidation

Alice McCall, the Australian fashion label founded in 2004 by its namesake, has gone into liquidation, owing over $1m to its creditors, more than half of which is owed to the Australian Taxation Office.

The brand, which has 14 stores in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, went into voluntary administration last year due to the Covid pandemic but could not recover.

The company owes $677,922.93 to the ATO and $200,986 to the retail property group Vicinity Centres.

Founder Alice McCall thanked her supporters on social media but said it was “time to bow out” after 20 years of success.
