Akwa Ibom State Mid-Term Break for Primary: Commissioner for Education urges parents and guardians to pay attention to their children

The government of Akwa Ibom State has declared that all public and private primary and secondary schools in the state will be closed for the Midterm Break on Thursday, June 16th and Friday, June 17th, 2022.

This is in compliance with Governor Udom Emmanuel’s directive that all elementary and secondary schools in the state, whether public and private, use the same academic calendar for all school sessions.

The Honorable Commissioner for Education, Mrs. Idongesit Etiebet, issued a press statement urging parents and guardians to pay attention and ensure that their children and wards follow the holidays. She recommended parents to keep their children busy with beneficial activities rather than letting them wander aimlessly through the streets.

The Education Commissioner wishes all Akwa Ibom students and pupils a happy holiday and encourages them to behave well and read and complete their assignments in order to enhance their grades.

Academic activities will resume on Monday, June 20, 2022, to continue the school year’s third term.
