National Diploma
National Diploma in Health Information Management is a program designed to provide candidates with the knowledge or skill, to assist in planning collating, organizing disseminating, monitoring and managing vital health information required at the local, state and federal levels in order to ensure effective and comprehensive national health care delivery. The duration of the National Diploma program shall be two academic sessions of four semesters including supervised clinical work experience.
Entry Requirements:
- Five Credits including English, Mathematics, Biology, Physic or Chemistry and any other 1 subject in not more than 2 sittings.
Pre-Higher National Diploma
The Pre-Higher National Diploma Programme in Health Information Management is a Programme designed to provide candidates with Health Records Technician Certificates, or (HIT Certificate) with a prerequisite to undergo a Higher National Diploma (HND) Programme in Health Information Management. The duration of the Pre-Higher National Diploma program shall be one academic session.
Entry Requirements:
- Five Credits including English, Mathematics, Biology, Physic or Chemistry and any other 1 subject in not more than 2 sittings.
- Health Records Technician Certificate with a minimum of Lower Credit.
Higher National Diploma
Higher National Diploma in Health Information Management is a program designed to provide candidates with the knowledge and skills to assist in planning, collating, organizing, disseminating, monitoring and managing vital Health Information required at the Local, State and Federal levels in order to ensure effective and comprehensive National Health Care Delivery. The duration of the Higher National Diploma program shall be two academic sessions of four semesters including supervised clinical work experience.
Entry Requirements:
- Five Credits including English, Mathematics, Biology, Physic or Chemistry and any other 1 subjects in not more than 1 sittings.
- National Diploma Certificates in Health Information Management with a minimum of Lower Credit.
- Evidence of compulsory Industrial Training (IT) or attachment in a reputable Health Institution.

- FROM THE LIST OF AVAILABLE PROGRAMMES CHOOSE BY CLICKING APPLY on the right end
- Click APPLY
- A transaction page will be displayed; Click GENERATE RRR at the bottom left of the page
- A Remita Retrieval Reference (RRR) will be generated on the page
- NOTE: paying online activates your account immediately.
(I) To pay online (Master/Visa/Internet Banking) CLICK on PAY VIA REMITA. (After paying just refresh your page and continue from step-12)
(II) To pay through a Bank, print your Transaction-slip and proceed to any Commercial bank of your choice (Make sure the RRR Number appears on the slip before printing and going to the bank) - After payment come back to the portal http://apply.abuth.gov.ng
- Click on LOGIN and enter the LOGIN ID and PASSWORD you created at step-3
- Fill in all your details (Biodata, contact, Next of kin, Qualifications & passport Photo)
- Make sure you agree with terms and conditions by checking the box at the bottom of your submit form details, then Finally Submit (You can always come back to edit your application before the final closing date)
