After a night out in Mahiki, an ex-Watford footballer “raped a woman while his Love Island star friend Dennon Lewis slept in the same room.”
Following a night out at London’s upscale Mayfair club, the woman was sleeping in a hotel room when Mr. Lewis, 23, is accused of forcing himself on her.
Mr. Lewis, who currently plays for Boreham Wood Football Club, made an appearance in the fifth series of the well-liked ITV2 reality show at Casa Amor.
Charles insists that the claim that he had sex with the woman is false and denies having been raped.
Charles and Mr. Lewis, both former Watford youth players, were also seen at the nightclubs Lords London and Club Maddox on March 14 of last year, according to testimony presented at Snaresbrook Crown Court.
According to the Evening Standard, they had planned to meet the woman and her friend and returned to the woman’s hotel at the conclusion of the evening.
The alleged victim had consensual sex with Mr. Philips during the night, according to the testimony given to the jury, but she “woke up to find a male, Ashley Charles, on top of her.”
PC Daniel Guy testified in court that “her friend” had planned a night out in London with Dennon Lewis, Ashley Charles, and a man by the name of Michael.
They all returned to the hotel after their night out was over. Dennon shared a double bed with (the friend), she and Michael slept on a sofa, and Ashley slept on the floor.
She had consensual sex with Michael before turning in. Around 7.30 a.m., Michael awoke and left the house, leaving (her) to go back to sleep.
She awoke at around 8:15 a.m. to discover Ashley on top of her, approaching her from behind for vaginal sex.
She yelled at him to leave her, waking up Dennon and (her friend).
Mr. Lewis, who was testifying through videolink, claimed that when he sought to find out what had happened, the woman was “upset.”
“Obviously it’s a difficult issue to cope with — it’s a really hard one,” he said to the court.
“Are you sure?” was my first response. – I was interested in learning the details of what occurred on both sides.
“What actually happened?” I was pondering. Nothing occurred, according to Ash, and he took no action. She was indignant.
“While I dealt with it and spoke to them appropriately,” the speaker said, “I instructed Ash to go and wait in my car.”
When accused of rape, he stated that his companion pulled down his boxer shorts to reveal his penis to Mr. Lewis.
He was asking, “Does it look like I did that?” Mr. Lewis continued.

Police arrived at the hotel room after being notified by the alleged victim, and Mr. Charles was questioned by them.
Charles was “always respectful” and “nice,” according to Mr. Lewis, after they first met while playing for Watford youngsters.
I met Ash through playing football, he remarked. From an early age, we were both playing for Watford.
I got to know him well, and I must say that he is an amazing young man who is extremely respectful and kind.
I can’t say enough good things about Ash. He is a young man who is very respectful.
