Admission Form for UNIPORT CPG

Candidates with the required qualifications are invited to apply for admission to the following graduate programs:

Doctor of Philosophy (c) (PhD)

Petroleum Geosciences.

Programme Duration:-

Master of Science (MSc) and Post Graduate Diploma (PGD) in Petroleum Geosciences

Full-Time: one year Physical with internet video conferencing in real time (Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.)
18 months part-time. Monday through Friday, 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., real-time online; and Saturdays, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., physical.

Petroleum Geosciences Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)

Twenty-four months.
Three score and six months.

Mode of Instruction and Evaluation:

The mode of instruction shall be a combination of onsite and online modules. In-person and online examinations will be offered at the conclusion of each module.

Admission Requirements for Post Graduate Diploma (PGD) in Petroleum Geosciences:-

First degree holders with a minimum GPA of 1.50 on a 5-point scale or Higher National Diploma holders with a minimum Upper Credit in Petroleum Geosciences, Geology, Geophysics, Petroleum Engineering, Gas Engineering, and Geo-mining Technology are encouraged to apply.
Applicants must hold a Higher National Diploma from a recognized institution of higher education with a least of Lower Credit in the areas listed above and have relevant experience in the oil and gas industry.

All Nigerian-origin candidates who reside in Nigeria must have gotten their NYSC discharge certificates.

Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) in Green Energy Geosciences and Asset Management Admission Requirements: –

Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university or a Higher National Diploma (Upper credit) from a recognized institution in the Sciences, Engineering, Technology, Social Sciences, or Management and have relevant experience in the energy industry.

Master of Science (MSc) Admission Requirements in Petroleum Geosciences: –

Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree with a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 5-point scale or a Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) with a minimum grade of Credit from an accredited university in Petroleum Geosciences, Geology, Geophysics, Petroleum Engineering, Gas Engineering, or Geo-mining Technology.
Applicants must hold a Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) from an accredited university in Petroleum Geosciences, Geology, Geophysics, Petroleum Engineering, Gas Engineering, or Geo-mining Technology and have relevant experience in the oil and gas business.

Master of Science (MSc) in Green Energy Geosciences and Asset Management Admission Requirements: –

Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree or PGD (credit) credentials from an accredited university in the Sciences, Engineering, Technology, Social Sciences, or Management and three years of experience in the energy industry.

Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) Admission Requirements in Petroleum Geosciences: –

Applicants must possess a Master’s degree in Petroleum Geosciences from an accredited institution with a minimum GPA of 3.50 on a 4.0 scale.
Applicants must hold a Master’s degree in Petroleum Engineering, Gas Engineering, Geology, Geophysics, Petroleum Geosciences, or Geo-mining Technology from a university with a minimum CGPA of 3.50 on a 4.0 scale and have relevant experience in the oil and gas business.

Application Charge

A non-refundable application fee of twenty-five thousand naira (N25, 000.00) must be paid online to Centre for Petroleum Geosciences (CPG) via Remita for Nigerians and USD65 for non-Nigerians.

Click on Other & Miscellaneous Payments
Select Select service/function
Select the appropriate item/Centre/Institute from the drop-down menu.
Click on amount to pay and enter the appropriate amount.
Complete the remaining fields on the page (such as name, E-mail, Phone no .etc)
Click the Make Payment button. This link will take you to the receipt page.
Print the page or create a copy of the RRR number on the page, then pay at any bank branch.
To make an online payment, click pay via Remita and then follow the on-page instructions to initiate the application process.

Applicants may access the Form online on the CPG website and submit it according to the instructions.

Applicants may also acquire the Form and submit it in person or via courier to the Admission Officer at the University of Port Harcourt’s Center for Petroleum Geosciences.

Important Dates to Keep in Mind (any change will be communicated by E-mail)

Application forms must be sent to the Admission Officer, Centre for Petroleum Geosciences, University of Port Harcourt, no later than November 18, 2022.
The Aptitude Test and Oral Interview will be held from December 7th to December 9th, 2022.
On Monday, December 12, 2022, admitted candidates will be notified and the names of successful candidates will be posted on the CPG website at http://cpg.uniport.edu.ng.
Wednesday, December 14, 2022, is the deadline for registration.
The first day of classes will be Friday, December 16, 2022.
Orientation occurs on Monday, December 19, 2022.
