Shadow foreign secretary David Lammy revealed that two celebrities, Adele and James Corden, separately contacted him to express their concern about the victims of the Grenfell Tower tragedy.

The pair had recently reunited in Los Angeles for the final session of Carpool Karaoke on Corden’s last episode of The Late Late Show.

Despite hailing from Greater London, they have both launched successful careers in the United States. Adele, who grew up in Tottenham and supports Spurs, was “really concerned” with the tragedy, according to Mr Lammy.

Meanwhile, Corden offered to purchase Christmas presents for children in the affected community.

During a Carpool Karaoke session recreation with BBC host Adam Fleming, Mr Lammy praised Adele as a “proud hero of Tottenham”.

Although he does not personally know the singer, Adele and Corden contacted him separately after the Grenfell Tower fire.

Corden had apparently sent him a WhatsApp message, requesting to send Christmas presents to the children affected by the tragedy.

The pair was a part of Mr Lammy’s life during that period.

Corden’s final episode of The Late Late Show aired on Thursday, featuring a range of celebrity guests such as Adele, Tom Cruise, Harry Styles, and Will Ferrell
