In a notable event on Sunday, the acting Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, held a thanksgiving service at the Redemption Pavilion, Victoria Island, Lagos State.

The occasion was marked with gratitude for his recent appointment as IGP and an opportunity to express appreciation to God for the achievements in safeguarding lives and property nationwide, as reported by Naija News through a statement by the Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi.

The church service witnessed the presence of Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State, who took the chance to shower praises on the IGP.

He commended Egbetokun’s dedication, professionalism, and commitment in his efforts to transform the Nigeria Police Force and ensure the safety and security of all citizens.

During the thanksgiving service, several notable figures in the police force were also present, including the Deputy Inspector-General of Police, Research and Planning, DIG Frank Mba, AIG Zone 2, AIG Ali Mohammed, CP Lagos State, CP Idowu Owohunwa, CP Ogun, CP Abiodun Alamutu, and others.

The parish Pastor, Pastor Bisi Olowoyo, took the opportunity to commend the IGP’s heartfelt gratitude and offered prayers for his success as the new Inspector-General of Police in Nigeria.

At the conclusion of the thanksgiving service, Egbetokun expressed his appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for finding him worthy and appointing him as the IGP.

He also conveyed his gratitude to Governor Dapo Abiodun and all well-wishers for their unwavering support, reaffirming his commitment to making Nigeria a safer place for everyone.
