Accused sex instructor shares yoga videos from Dubai

A former PE instructor who was charged with having sex with a student at prom has returned to social media to post yoga videos and reassure followers that they can start over.

The General Teaching Council for Scotland (GTCS) expelled Melissa Tweedie from the teaching register in February as a result of an inquiry into her interactions with an adolescent student.

Following the school leavers’ party at SWG3 in Glasgow in June 2017, the 28-year-old was accused of sleeping with the 18-year-old.

She vehemently denied having sex with the student, but it was determined that she had behaved inappropriately.

Following the claims, the former teacher at Gleniffer High School in Paisley, Renfrewshire, relocated to Dubai and then closed her social media accounts throughout the proceedings.

Tweedie, who changed her employment to teach yoga in Dubai, returned to social media a few months after being expelled from the bar to share meditation videos and online lessons.

Melissa Tweedie, a former PE instructor who was accused of having sex with a student, has returned to social media to publish yoga videos and reassure viewers that they can start again.

The humiliated Miss Tweedie can be heard addressing her viewers as she shifts into different yoga and meditation postures in a series of videos that were released in May.

Hello, welcome back to day two, and have a lovely morning and new day ahead of you, she adds.

If today or yesterday weren’t your days, simply remember that today is a new day with a blank slate in front of you.

“You select the colours you use today and the lessons you draw from it,” the proverb goes.

“Yesterday is behind you; a new bright day waits for you.”

In order to get her certification as a Vinyasa Flow and Hatha flow yoga teacher, Miss Tweedie spent more than 200 hours of study time in Dubai.

When Miss Tweedie’s Alexa starts speaking at one point, the former teacher had to cut her off.

She commands Alexa to pause. However, all I heard her say was about hormones, so I’m fascinated by what she said.

“Return your hands to your heart, then shut your eyes.” I just want your feelings. Connect to and feel your heartbeat.

The beat of your own heart.

Where else in the body can we feel this pulse?

Feeling yourself, be thankful for this heartbeat, which is really healthy. I wish a healthy physique.

Feeling appreciative of the high hat your breath may provide. I am joy, say it out loud with me.

“Have a great day, much love, and I’ll see you soon.”

The former PE teacher ends each video by telling the audience that she loves them and then blowing a kiss in their direction.

During the 2017 prom, Tweedie was seen dancing improperly and sharing shots with students at the bar.

After drinking wine, gin, shots, and beer, the 18-year-old student who was with her when they were discovered on a bed stated they had sex.

According to testimony given during the court, her headmaster David Nicholls received a phone at 1.45 am from a ‘alarmed’ youngster who claimed to have seen her at the hotel with Pupil A.

The now-retired Mr. Nicholls travelled to the Premier Inn but was only permitted inside the lobby, where he phoned Miss Tweedie.

Eventually, he said, he was able to get her on her cellphone, but she informed him that she was at home.

Later, she told investigators that she had woken up in the student’s bed, but she denied having sex with him and said her alcohol could have been tainted.

Additionally, Miss Tweedie said that the only reason she went to the hotel was because she was worried about her students using narcotics after spotting a bag of cocaine.

She subsequently told police that she had woken up in the student’s bed, but she also suggested that she could have been drugged.

According to a panel of the General Teaching Council of Scotland, the student’s assertion that he had intercourse with her was not supported by the evidence.

However, the panel acknowledged that she had kissed the youngster, who was only identified as Pupil A, and had shared a bed with him by herself.

She received a removal order after the panel determined that her behaviour was far below the bar anticipated of a certified instructor.

When Police Scotland were notified of the occurrence, they discovered that no crime had been committed.
