A touching moment Rio de Janeiro man poses as being in arrested to propose to his girlfriend

Here’s an unconventional method to pop the question to your partner while you’re handcuffed on a Brazilian street.

In order to convince Shirley Mclaynee to say yes, Marcos Veloso and two Rio de Janeiro police officers shockingly informed her that the couple had purchased an automobile that had been reported stolen.

Their companion captured video of the recent engagement, in which one of the officers could be seen questioning Veloso about the history of the car.

‘Where did you buy this car? Where are the documents,’ the police officer asked a handcuffed Veloso.

The engagement ring was pulled out of a red box and given to Veloso in the viral video, which featured one of the police officers.

Unaware of what was about to happen, Mclaynee went back inside the cafeteria where they were dining before to the sudden marriage proposal to get her belongings. She then went back to her boyfriend’s side.

She was hauled by a police officer who had held her by the arm toward Veloso, who had knelt down and said, “Here Shirley.” Will you wed me?

According to Veloso, he was first apprehensive about proposing to Mclaynee when they were eating in the cafeteria and asked the police officers for assistance. They accepted.

‘I wanted to do something different from everything else,’ Veloso recalled. ‘So, I saw the police. I had already bought the ring and said, ‘That will be it.’ I asked them and they agreed to do it.’

Mclaynee approved of her boyfriend’s uncommon form of proposing marriage.

‘He is everything to me. He has a huge heart,’ she said. ‘Because he is a good person, because of the way he treats me, I am completely in love with him.’
