A teenager has been arrested for raping a girl in the sea at Bournemouth beach

According to police, a teenager has been detained for raping a girl in the sea at Bournemouth beach last year.

The 15-year-old girl claimed she was raped in the sea after she went to pick her ball that landed near her alleged attacker.

An 18-year-old man has been arrested in the West Midlands on suspicion of rape, according to Dorset Police.

Following the incident, which occurred near the Oceanarium on July 18, last year, he was released on bail.

Detectives stated that the youngster was dragged into the sea by her attacker on a crowded day at the beach at the time of the alleged crime.

The victim was with her friends when their ball landed in front of the culprit, who informed the youngster he was on his way to Birmingham, according to police.

He then reportedly threw it back to a member of the group and continued conversing with the victim before dragging her deeper into the water and raping her.

‘We have continued to support the victim and her family throughout this investigation, and they have been updated with this latest development,’ said detective inspector Wayne Seymour, who is handling the case.
