Police said they discovered Mr Bennett with gunshot wounds in the building’s entryway and pronounced him dead at the spot.

Mr Bennett grew raised in Sydney with his martial arts expert father and mother before relocating to the United States two and a half years ago.

Tony Del Vecchio of Bondi Boxing, Mr Bennett’s old Sydney boxing instructor, said Mr Bennett would “come in and light up the room.”

‘He came to me, one of the lads at the gym brought him in, shortly after we started in 2015 or 2016,’ he told the Daily Telegraph.

‘He taught small children, customers, and worked with me.’

‘He was the man that gave so much, and he’d want you to be happy and would go out of his way to make you happy.’

‘He’s left an indelible imprint on this world.’

Anyone with information on the shooting is encouraged to contact Crime Stoppers or the Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau.
