A Man requires surgery after surviving an alligator’s attack in front of his house in Florida

A man in Florida was attacked by an alligator after opening his front door on Saturday night, according to reports.
Daytona Beach resident Scott Hollingsworth said that he heard a noise outside his home at around 9:42 pm and when he stepped outside, “something grabbed me on the leg, started shaking violently.”
He initially thought it was a dog, but after seeing the wound on his leg, he realized it was an alligator. Hollingsworth required surgery for his injury and said he won’t be biking anytime soon.
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission arrived and euthanized the 9-foot alligator found lurking near his front door.

This attack follows the death of Gloria Serge, an 85-year-old woman who was killed by a 10-foot alligator while walking her dog in Fort Pierce, Florida, about two hours south of Daytona Beach.

Serge was trying to protect her small dog from the 700-pound gator when it dragged her into the lake outside her retirement community. Her dog survived the attack.
