This is the heart-stopping moment an 18-month-old infant boy was rescued from a 500-foot hole after slipping in while playing nearby.

The youngster, identified as Shivan Badhel, was the subject of a 45-minute army rescue mission on June 7 in Dudapur Village, Dhrangadhra Taluka, Surendranagar district, Gujarat, western India.

The child was playing near a cabin on a farm where his family works as agricultural laborers when he fell 20 feet into the 500-foot-deep well at around 8 p.m. on Tuesday.

A big piece of rope can be seen dangling through a tube that appears to go underground in the footage.

An infant can be heard wailing and crying for rescue as many army personnel surround the location.

Following that, a member of the rescue crew can be seen gently tugging the rope towards the well’s top, with others joining in to lend a hand.

As the end of the rope approaches the earth’s surface, the baby’s cries become louder.

A head appears out of nowhere, and the rescue crew scrambles to free the newborn.

The crowd can be seen clapping and cheering as the infant emerges from the hole, before being carried into an ambulance by two army members.
As the video finishes, several individuals can be seen requesting a doctor to treat the youngster in the back of an ambulance.

According to reports, the Dhrangadhra Taluka Police were told of a stranded baby and immediately informed the army.

The baby is said to be healthy, although he is still being monitored at a hospital where he was reunited with family members.

‘The Army rescuers team arrived at the place at 9:45 pm,’ Mukesh Patel, the sub-divisional magistrate of Dhrangadhra, told The Indian Express.

‘In the borewell, they lowered a hook attached to a rope. They were able to catch the boy’s T-shirt in the hook and gently pull him out of the 500-foot borewell.

‘Within 45 minutes of arriving at the site, the Army team was able to bring the boy out of the borewell.’
