A frustrated motorist caught behind a sluggish driver dialed his ute’s phone number, requesting that he get out of the right lane so he could overtake.

On Friday morning, his dashcam clip was uploaded on Twitter, capturing the amusing event.

On Thursday afternoon, the vision’s owner was observed driving in the right lane of the congested Victorian motorway.

As the motorist grew impatient with being stopped behind the pickup, he decided to phone the ute’s driver and request that they merge.

The driver in front of me answered his phone after a few rings.

‘Do you mind simply driving into the left lane so I can go past ya?’ questioned the man behind me.

‘Yeah mate, I’m passing other cars too,’ remarked the other motorist.

‘No, you’re not…you’re just sitting there,’ said the driver behind me.

As the man in front tried to justify his behavior, he hung up, signalled, and merged into the left lane, leaving the people behind with a clean run.

The conversation was applauded by Safe Roads Australia.

‘It’s nice to witness someone being calm and considerate while dealing with another driver on the road, even if they’re a hassle,’ the group stated.

‘More of this is needed; there will always be those who do not obey the rules; don’t make a bad situation worse.’
