A Farmer loses life in Ladysmith shootings

On Wednesday, July 13, at a truck stop close to Ladysmith, KwaZulu-Natal, two farmers were shot.

According to reports, the victims were well-known local commercial farmers.

Sibusiso Gama was shot and killed there, according to Alf Lees, the Democratic Alliance (DA) constituency head in the uThukela district, while Gerry Khumalo, who was hurt, was taken to a hospital for treatment.

“We urge the police to use all available means to apprehend the perpetrators of this heinous crime and determine their motivations.

The harshest punishments are required for the offenders, according to Lees.

According to Constable Thenjiswa Ngcobo, a spokesperson for the South African Police Service (SAPS), the attack happened on the R103 road on Wednesday before 23:30.

According to reports, the victims were inside a business when an unidentified shooter opened fire, leaving one man dead and the other needing medical attention, according to Ngcobo.

The Ladysmith police station is looking into homicide and attempted homicide cases.

According to Lees, the DA has asked for a special task team to be formed to address the “ongoing attacks on our rural communities.”

Unfortunately, no one is listening to our pleas. The attacks on farmers are being disregarded, despite the fact that they are essential to our survival in this country, claimed the DA MP.
