£98k disappears after a ‘spiked’ cocktail at London’s Vanity

One of the 10 accused “spiking” victims at a London strip club that now faces closure is a guy who discovered £98,000 missing from his bank account.

A total of £250,000 has been lost by up to 10 persons who believe that their cocktails at Soho’s Vanity Bar and Nightclub on Carlisle Street were spiked.

After visiting a strip club, one victim said he awoke at a brothel to find that £98,000 had been taken from his bank accounts.

In the most recent occurrence on November 26, 2017, a guy said he awoke on a street close to his house after passing out while at the strip club.

Prior to waking up the next morning and realizing he had moved more than £19,000 to many unidentified bank accounts, he could only recall purchasing a drink.

According to a Westminster City Council report that MyLondon was able to see, Vanity had collected four payments totaling around £3,000 during the course of the previous night.

A Westminster City Council investigation found that “a guy was the victim of alcohol spiking and theft in the early hours of November 26, 2022.”

The victim ‘is of the opinion that his drink was poisoned or drugged at Vanity,’ according to the report, and he ‘had no recall whatsoever of being in Vanity and had not authorized these transactions.

According to a complaint from Met Police PC Steve Muldoon, the man discovered that he left the club around two hours after entering after checking Google Maps on his phone.

The guy was dropped off at home after spending two and a half hours at a vehicle wash, but he was unsure of how he got there.

Following the occurrences, a comprehensive assessment of the club will be finished at the Westminster City Council’s licensing hearing on January 9.

Police have requested that the venue’s license be suspended due to the alleged events, and Westminster City Council will conduct the assessment.

Paul Fisher, a councilor for the West End, advised Westminster’s licensed establishments to “consider the safety of your customers as a priority.”

You will experience the repercussions if you don’t. I totally endorse holding this review hearing; it is entirely proper, he continued.

Vanity did not submit any papers to the council, but they are apparently planning to present a sizable amount of material during the review session.
