84-year-old pro-life worker was shot in Michigan

The organisation she was working with reported that an 84-year-old pro-life volunteer was shot on September 20 while canvassing her neighbourhood to inform residents about a ballot initiative pertaining to abortion in Michigan.

According to a news release from Right to Life of Michigan (RLM), the woman from Lake Odessa was discussing Proposal 3, a state constitutional amendment that would promote abortion.

According to the news statement, the woman was shot in the back-shoulder region as she was leaving a house after a contentious argument.

The pro-life volunteer is unaware of the identity or motivation of the guy who shot her since he was not there throughout the talk.

According to RLM, the victim, who requests anonymity, is currently healing from her gunshot wound.

She is recuperating at home and is in excellent spirits, according to Chris Gast, the education coordinator at RLM, who spoke to CNA. She ought to be OK.

The pro-life activist was shooting herself after getting into what authorities described as a “alleged verbal dispute,” according to local news source WOOD TV8.

The source said that the woman drove herself to the Lake Odessa Police Department after being shot. She was then transported to the hospital, where she received treatment before being discharged.

According to the RLM news statement, the Michigan State Police are looking into the incident and will report their findings to the prosecutor’s office in Ionia County.

This story is still developing.
