Bafana Bafana beat Sierra Leone 4-0 on Saturday to win again

Bafana Bafana defeated Sierra Leone by a score of 4-0 on Saturday to go back on the winning track.

Themba Zwane, a national team returnee, stole the show for the hosts with a well executed brace as Bafana pushed past an undermatched Leone Stars.

Hugo Broos, the Bafana coach, lavished praise on the Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder.

In his post-game interview, he said, “Themba was not only terrific today; he was really good and I was very delighted today.”

I’ve already said that only idiots refuse to modify their ideas.

We began assembling our squad in September with young players, and I wanted to give them a chance first. However, he simply kept getting better, and maybe he was the team’s weak link.

On the other hand, it’s crucial that we exercise caution and restrain our happiness. Although this isn’t France, Ghana, or Morocco, Themba’s performance today was excellent.

Zakhele Lepasa, Luke Leroux, and Mihlali Mayambela all had debut chances from Broos, and all three scored goals.

The Belgian coach said that he was a little anxious because he wanted his new-look club to succeed.

As a coach, you constantly have something on your mind because you want to see what you want to see when the game begins, he added.

“It was absolutely not what I saw in the previous games, and I also told the players that this was the opportunity for them to begin something fresh; they shouldn’t destroy the occasion, and they surely didn’t do that, so I have to applaud them.”

Sphephelo Sithole and newcomer Leroux controlled the action, giving Mshishi the chance to express himself completely and laying the groundwork for a strong Bafana performance.

In order to boost his team’s confidence as he gets ready for the forthcoming Afcon qualifiers, Broos said that his major goal in scheduling this game against 107th-ranked Sierra Leone was to do just that.

First of all, having a weaker opponent than the others was crucial for us, according to Broos, so that we could feel more confident.

“It wasn’t only about me, but there has been a lot of hostility lately about the national team and me as a coach, so it was vital for us to play well today and we did, scoring four goals and putting on fantastic performances and hopefully we can carry that into next week Tuesday.”

At the FNB Stadium, Bafana will play its second friendly of the international break against Botswana’s neighbours.
