8 movies to keep kids engaged over the holidays


As the conclusion of the third term approaches, it is typical to worry about how to keep kids occupied and entertained over the holidays.

Whether you’re a stay-at-home parent or a working parent, here are some inexpensive films that will keep the whole family entertained.

Get some popcorn and cuddle with the children, or give them the remote control; either way, they will enjoy themselves.

Peter Parker turns to Doctor Strange for assistance after discovering Spider-identity Man’s in “Spider-Man: No Way Home,” the top cinema office smash of 2021 worldwide.

Peter is forced to realize what it means to be Spider-Man when he encounters terrifying opponents from other planets after a failed spell.

On Showmax, you can rewatch “Spider-Man: Homecoming” and Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man trilogy: “Spider-Man,” “Spider-Man 2,” and “Spider-Man 3.”

“Sing 2” was the year’s highest-grossing animated feature and the tenth highest-grossing film overall.

The film is recommended for ages 7 and up and follows Buster Moon (Matthew McConaughey) and his troupe as they set to launch their most spectacular stage spectacle to yet in the sparkling entertainment center of the world.

To get their gig at the Crystal Tower Theatre in glitzy Redshore City, however, they must win over the unscrupulous mogul wolf Jimmy Crystal (Bobby Cannavale) and convince the reclusive lion rock star Clay Calloway (U2 lead singer Bono) to come to the stage.

GHOSTBUSTERS: AFTERLIFE | 10-12PG VH

“Ghostbusters: Afterlife,” the 22nd highest-grossing film of 2021, follows up 32 years after the events of “Ghostbusters II.” A single mother and her two children move to the Oklahoma farm inherited from her estranged father, where they uncover their link to the original Ghostbusters and their grandfather’s secret heritage.

Showmax also features the original and second “Ghostbusters” films, as well as the 2016 reboot.

THE BOSS BABY: FAMILY BUSINESS | PG

“The Boss Baby: Family Business”, sometimes known as “The Boss Baby 2”, catches up with the now-adult Templeton brothers, who have drifted apart, until a new boss baby attempts to reunite them and save childhood in the process.

The film was nominated for a People’s Choice Award for The Family Movie of 2021 and an Annie Award for Outstanding Character Animation in 2022. It is suggested for ages 6 and above.

The Oscar-nominated picture “The Boss Baby” is also available on Showmax.

PAW PATROL: THE MOVIE | Suitable for all ages

In the film “PAW Patrol: The Movie,” no city is too big and no dog is too little. Based on the iconic pre-school television series, the 33rd highest-grossing film of 2021 follows Ryder and his pack of dog hero companions to Adventure City, where greedy Mayor Humdinger is unleashing devastation.

In addition, Marsai Martin, Little, Black-contender ish’s for Teen Choice, lends her voice to the squad’s new brave female dog, Liberty.

Tom and Jerry are back in “Tom & Jerry: The Movie,” in which Jerry moves into New York’s finest hotel on the eve of the wedding of the century, causing Chlo Grace Moretz’s event planner Kayla to employ Tom to get rid of the intruder.

As chaos ensues, however, their growing game of cat and mouse threatens to destroy her job, the wedding, and even the hotel itself.

The 34th highest grossing film of 2021, “Tom & Jerry,” was nominated for The Family Film of 2021 at the People’s Choice Awards the previous year.

There are no greater heroes than this. “Clifford the Big Red Dog” was nominated for the Favorite Movie Kids’ Choice Award in 2022.

Based on the renowned series of 80 children’s novels by Norman Bridwell, the plot revolves around a little puppy named Clifford who, according to legend, would only grow as large as his new best buddy loves him. However, it turns out that Emily is really fond of Clifford.

Common Sense Media recommends the film for ages 6 and up because it is “undeniably tenderhearted.”
