Finally, Isaac Mizrahi is pleased with himself when he looks in the mirror.
In a recent interview with Page Six Style, the 61-year-old fashion queen revealed, “I used to look at pictures of myself and think, ‘UGH’.”
“But now I tell her, ‘Okay, you’re not [supermodel] Veruschka, but you are someone else, and not everyone can be Veruschka, right?’”
Mizrahi continued, “I’m starting to adore the hideous, dreadful images of myself. It takes us so long to learn to gaze in the mirror without exclaiming, “What the f—?”
And that’s not all the former “Project Runway All Stars” judge is learning to appreciate; he’s also enjoying his social media trolls.

“I’ve reached a point where I actually like my detractors,” revealed the Brooklyn native. “I have no problem with haters. It used to worry me out; I would freak out for days if someone said something terrible, but now I kind of like it because I thought, “Well, I never really intended to please everyone.”
Mizrahi added, “If people are telling you that you’re too overweight or whatever, let them. Let them dislike me; that will only make me more intriguing.”
Mizrahi frequently broadcasts footage of himself preparing meals in the kitchen.

Mizrahi is not only an expert with a sewing machine, but also a skilled cook, as proven by his cooking misadventures on Instagram, which are not always successful.
“When I cook by myself, it’s always perfect, but when the camera is rolling, everything goes to hell,” he remarked with a chuckle.
“I have no idea how that occurs, but that is precisely what occurs. It always turns out great, but it’s like a dish I’ve been cooking for years that suddenly fails.”
The title of Mizrahi’s new show is “The Marvelous Mr. Mizrahi.”

Mizrahi will return to Café Carlyle with his brand-new performance, “The Marvelous Mr. Mizrahi,” from February 14 to February 25. It is something he anticipates all year.
“Nothing could be more iconic, enjoyable, or great than designing that room,” he exclaimed.
