Sharks were crushed by ferocious Stormers

Saturday in Durban, the Stormers were ruthless as they scored six tries to finish a 46-19 thrashing of the Sharks.

The resounding bonus point victory solidifies the Stormers’ second-place standing in the United Rugby Championship, seven points ahead of the third-placed Ulster.

The Stormers assumed command from the beginning and never ceded it.

The Sharks are left with more questions than answers after this match. They were outmuscled in the collisions, outwitted strategically, and outplayed all across the field.

Both teams were lacking a few of their international players because to Springbok resting requirements.

Manie Libbok’s individual brilliance in the third minute allowed his halfback partner Herschel Jantjies to score the first try for the Stormers, despite the fact that the Bulls had scored the previous two tries.

The Stormers maintained their relentless pressure, and the Sharks’ porous defense had no response. Two more goals and a penalty gave the visitors a 24-7 lead at halftime.

After the halftime break, the Stormers’ dynamic offense continued to probe and the Sharks’ defense began to collapse.

John Dobson’s Stormers scored an additional three touchdowns, bringing their total to six. Despite the fact that the Sharks were able to score a second seven-pointer, it was the Stormers and Libbok who had the final word as the excellent flyhalf kicked a penalty to complete the whitewash.
