53% of Americans consider the southern border ‘invaded’

According to a recent survey, more than half of Americans consider the situation at the southern border to be a “invasion,” and a further third voiced concern about being replaced by illegal immigrants.

The latest NPR/Ipsos survey, published on Thursday, reveals a general fall in support for immigration as daily pictures of hundreds to thousands of migrants sneaking through the southern border come to light.

On Thursday, Fox News published aerial footage from the southern border that showed another another sizable group, this time consisting of around 150 primarily single adults, landing in Eagle Pass, Texas after crossing the Rio Grande River illegally from Mexico.

Democrats deny that there is a crisis at the border and have minimised the role that President Joe Biden’s policies have had in the record-breaking migration numbers, despite the visuals and terrifying journeys that have resulted in deaths of migrants.

In the meanwhile, 25% of Americans believe there is a “somewhat genuine” invasion at the southern border, while 28% believe it is “totally true.”

Only 19% of those polled say the invasion claims are “completely false,” and another 27% say they “don’t know” how to classify them.

According to the “replacement theory,” immigrants and people of colour are purposefully displacing white Americans who were born here.

The survey taken July 28-29 of 1,116 American adults shows that more than one-third of respondents agree with the statement that ‘native-born Americans are being systematically replaced by immigrants’.

When just considering Republican respondents, that figure jumps to more than 50 percent.

While nearly half of the 1.82 million migrants who arrived in the U.S. so far in Fiscal Year 2022 were expelled from the country under pandemic-era Title 42.

But the hundreds of thousands of others were permitted to seek asylum in the U.S.

A report based on sources with Customs and Border Protection (CBP) claims that the agency has encountered more than 2 million migrants crossing the southern border illegally.

Footage also captured by Fox News on Wednesday shows the moment Border Patrol agents opened the gates at the southern border to allow illegal migrants through – just after Texas National Guard officers had locked it.

The armed agents, who work under the direction of the Biden administration, unbuckle the barbed-wire fence before several asylum seekers – including men, women and children – walked through.

Agents then stood around chatting and finally shut the barrier between Mexico and the US after dozens had filed past them into the country, as the Texas National Guard watched on helplessly.

The video was roundly slammed online, with Texas Governor Greg Abbott leading the charge by branding it ‘unbelievable’ and blaming Joe Biden’s border policies for the influx.

It comes amid a surging crisis in the US as migrants from across South America ditch their homes and trek thousands of miles in search of a better life in the States. At least two million are reported to have entered the country already this year, setting a new national record dating back 22 years.

On Wednesday morning, the migrants travelling from Texas were welcomed by Miguel Castro, the city’s commissioner for immigrant affairs.

Given that the Biden Administration “has turned over operational control of our Southern Border to the cartels,” according to CBP Commissioner Mark Morgan under the Trump administration, it is hardly surprising that crossings have already hit a record high.

Morgan said, “They have accomplished this by deliberately undermining every significant and efficient border security mechanism in place.”

This includes Biden stopping work on the southern border wall proposed by the late President Donald Trump the day after he took office.

To accommodate the migrants coming in New York City by buses from Texas and Arizona, the city plans to book an additional 5,000 hotel rooms.

The additional 5,000 rooms will be added to the 1,000 that the city had said it would rent.

The Department of Social Services outlined the request in a letter of solicitation that was sent on Wednesday.

They did not provide a price estimate or a list of the hotels they intended to utilise.

The revelation of the extra 5,000 hotel rooms angered several New Yorkers.

“NYC is searching for an additional 5,000 hotel rooms to host migrants arriving by bus.” Therefore, we no longer have visitors staying in our hotels,’ tweeted Andrea Catsimatidis, the chairman of the Manhattan Republican Party.

Imagine the effect that would have on our economy, crime, and tax revenue.

Doug Ducey, the governor of Arizona, has resorted to building a barrier made of shipping containers along the Mexican border in an effort to stop migrants from coming into the US illegally at points in his state.

At least 1,000 migrants have been bussed out of Ducey’s state and taken to Washington, D.C. by Abbott and Abbott, respectively, thus far.

Abbott’s initiatives, which were initiated in mid-April and led to Ducey beginning the same programme a month later – busing migrants from his state to sanctuary cities – have been denounced by NYC Mayor Adams and DC Mayor Muriel Bowser.

An attempt has been made for months to bring the southern border problem to the politicians’ doorstep in the nation’s capital.

But once Bowser referred to the small number of migrants in Washington, D.C., as a humanitarian disaster, Abbott realised the campaign had been successful.

Republicans contend that Biden’s lack of border visits since assuming office in 2017 demonstrates that he does not take the migration situation seriously and that he is not exerting enough effort to solve the humanitarian problems border towns are suffering.

Rep. Andy Biggs tweeted on Wednesday that Joe Biden has visited Delaware over 50 times since becoming office.

In his whole life, “He has yet to reach the southern border ONCE.”

The representative from Arizona said, “He is not a leader.”

President Biden has been in office for 574 days, as noted by Pennsylvania Representative Guy Reschenthaler in a tweet on Wednesday. He hasn’t even attempted to cross our southern border once.

While Title 42’s laws from the epidemic period have resulted in the deportation of more over half of the 1.82 million immigrants who have entered the United States so far in Fiscal Year 2022.

At an unrelated press conference on Monday, Mayor Adams said that New York would 'treat these people with dignity' that Texas has failed to do

However, tens of thousands of refugees were permitted to submit applications for asylum in the US.

A report quoting Customs and Border Protection (CBP) personnel said that the organisation has seen more than 2 million illegal border crossing attempts by migrants.

On Wednesday, Fox News also captured footage of the second the Texas National Guard blocked the southern border’s gates before Border Patrol agents opened them to allow illegal immigrants through.

The armed agents, who work for the Biden administration, unbuckled the barbed-wire fence before a group of asylum applicants, including men, women, and children, crossed it.

The Texas National Guard stood idly by while agents stood about and talked before finally shutting the border fence after a large number of immigrants had passed them and entered the US.

Greg Abbott, the governor of Texas, was the first person to criticise the footage online, calling it “unbelievable” and blaming the deluge on Joe Biden’s border policies.

It takes place when individuals escape their homes and travel hundreds of miles to the US in search of a better life, which is making the migration problem in the US worse.

At least two million migrants are said to have have entered the nation this year, surpassing a record that had stood for 22 years.

Shortly after taking office, Vice President Kamala Harris was given responsibility for the southern border crisis by Biden, but her office swiftly changed the title of “border czar” to emphasise that she was responsible for addressing the “root causes” of migration in the Northern Triangle countries.

Images from locations along the southern border where hundreds or maybe thousands of migrants crossed in a single day have surfaced.

Images from Eagle Pass, Texas, where large groups of migrants are apprehended after crossing the Rio Grande River in a perilous voyage that often results in an instant return, have been provided by Fox News.

However, in other situations, the asylum requests of the migrants are heard and they are allowed to enter the country while awaiting the immigration process.

However, authorities warn that tens of thousands of migrants skip their court dates and enter the nation undetected.

There are still two months left in FY2022, and if encounters keep going at the present pace, CBP may exceed all prior years with approximately 2.5 million apprehensions in a single year.

The consistently record-breaking migration numbers, according to Morgan, who oversaw CBP from July 5, 2019, until Trump’s departure on January 20, 2021, are a result of the Biden administration’s mistakes.

‘In just over 18 months Biden’s open border agenda, shepherded-in by its chief architect [DHS] Secretary [Alejandro] Mayorkas, has resulted in over 4.9 million migrants entering our southern border illegally – 4 million encounters and nearly one million got away who evaded apprehension,’ Morgan told DailyMail.com.

The Biden administration “has added the equivalent of the whole population of the state of South Carolina with more than three million currently living in the United States.”

He described the situation at the southern border as a “self-inflicted disaster” and said that there had been more than 150,000 arrests for 17 consecutive months.

This FY, CBP met more illegal immigrants than it did over the previous five years combined, according to the Terrorist Screening Database.

With almost 900,000 confirmed runaways, the United States may already be home to the next menace, Morgan said.
