Over the weekend, a 5.7kg female koala entered the Ampol service station in Adelaide Hills, South Australia. The marsupial was captured on CCTV footage wandering around the shelves and climbing onto a worker’s leg.

The Koala was aggressive, and the worker struggled to remove it from his leg. Eventually, the Koala jumped off the worker’s leg and spent nearly 40 minutes browsing the shelves.

A wildlife rescue organization called Koala Rescue Inc arrived and released the Koala back into the forest, around 500 meters away. After being released, the Koala climbed a tree and did not look back.

In Hong Kong, protests erupted over several oppressive laws the Hong Kong and Chinese governments enacted. Demonstrators took to the streets to march against these laws. However, the protests were met with violent suppression by China, resulting in thousands of arrests.

During the protests, martial artist and actor Donnie Yen drew criticism for making an effusive post about the anniversary of Hong Kong joining China. Yen recalled playing piano at a commemorative concert where President Xi was in the audience.

He wrote, “Today is the celebration day for Hong Kong returned to motherland China 23 years…Recalling such a memorable night in 2017 when I had the privilege to perform with piano Mastro Lang Lang for Chairman Xi and their wife, along with several hundred guests who came to watch the show and celebrated the night!” Yen even included a picture of him meeting Xi on stage after the performance.
