46-year-old mother of five from North Carolina was brutally attacked at home by two pit bulls while dog-sitting and died as a result.

Trena Peed was taking her dogs out early on Thursday at 2am when they dragged her out with them into the backyard.

Trena Peed recently lost two kids in vehicle tragedies that occurred two years apart.

That same night, screaming were heard by the neighbors.

“It is night. One of the neighbors remarked, “All I hear is her yelling and her dogs attacking her over there.”

Peed’s son was present in the house at the time of the incident and discovered his mother dead when he awoke.

The woman was discovered dead at her Greensboro residence by police who responded to the calls.

Waynesha Peed, the woman’s daughter, said: “Early this morning, my mom was sadly taken away from us by a vicious attack from dogs. My siblings, grandma, family, & I are grieved at her abrupt loss.

According to accounts, one of the dogs was shot by officers there, while the other is now in the custody of animal control and in quarantine.

Following the event, the identity of the animals’ owner was unclear, and the police have not yet filed any charges.

“The owner, whomever they are, ought to come forward because they claim to love my kid,” the owner said.

Right now, this is not demonstrating love for her, Helen Harris, her mother, told WFMY.

Only a few days prior, Harris had instructed her to stop taking care of the two pit dogs, according to her.

“It’s awful.” She was fatally mauled. The neighbor of Peed exclaimed, “That is dreadful.” We had a great friendship. She and my wife conversed frequently.

We were merely pals. I don’t care who it was; it’s dreadful, even if I didn’t know her at all.

A GoFundMe page has been set up by the family asking for money to assist transport the woman home so she can be buried in Virginia.
