3 056 new coronavirus cases recorded in SA

In South Africa, the National Institute for Communicable Diseases (NICD) has reported 3 056 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of laboratory-confirmed cases to 3 652 024.
This implies a rise of 8.8% in optimism. Gauteng (37 percent) had the most new cases today, followed by the Western Cape (24 percent) (18 percent ).
According to the institution, there may be a backlog of COVID-19 fatality cases recorded due to the National Department of Health’s ongoing audit.
A total of 435 deaths have been reported, with 17 of them occurring during the last 24–48 hours. This takes the overall number of fatalities to 97 955.
22 796 653 tests have been conducted in both the public and private sectors.
