1,127 new COVID-19 cases recorded in South Africa

On Sunday, 1 127 new COVID-19 cases were reported in South Africa, increasing the total number of laboratory-confirmed cases to 3 968 205.

This implies a rise of 8.29 percent in positive.

Four deaths were reported in the last 24 hours, increasing the total to 101 317 deaths, according to the National Department of Health.

 

There have been 25 366 718 tests conducted in the public and private sectors to date.

According to the National Institute for Communicable Diseases (NICD), Gauteng has the most new cases (379), followed by the Western Cape (248).

There were 175 new cases in KwaZulu-Natal, 105 in the Eastern Cape, 65 in the Free State, 49 in the Northern Cape and Mpumalanga, 44 in the North West, and 13 in Limpopo.
